Our Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania Dentist and
the Excel Dental Care Staff

The Right Group

Howard M. Goldstein, D.M.D.

Pennsylvania Dentist, Howard GoldsteinThe grandson and nephew of dentists in New York, Dr. Goldstein spent many hours as a young boy playing with the cool "toys" in his grandfather's and uncle's offices and knew even then that some day he wanted to be a dentist and have dental "toys" of his own. Raised in Levittown Pennsylvania, Dr. Goldstein was graduated from Muhlenberg College with a B.S. in Natural Science in 1976. In 1980 he was graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with his degree in Dental Medicine. Dr. Goldstein completed his general practice residency at the Wilkes-Barre Veterans Administration Hospital. Having developed a fondness for the Lehigh Valley in Pennsylvania, he established his private practice as a dentist in 1982, with a focus on helping adults and children attain healthy, attractive, lifelong smiles.

Dr. Goldstein conscientiously pursues continuing education courses to help him provide the best, most advanced care to his patients. Keeping up with the latest technological advances in dentistry is one of the facets of dentistry that he likes best. Throughout the last twenty years he has completed advanced courses in cosmetic dentistry, implantology, orthodontics, crown and bridgework, and periodontics. This includes certification in the Invisalign "invisible braces" system, as well as the revolutionary "NTI-tss" suppression system used to eliminate many of TMJ's painful symptoms, including migraines. Dr. Goldstein has completed the training program of the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation (DOCS) and is certified by them and is an active member. Dr. Goldstein is administrator of Dentaltown, the world's largest internet forum for Dentists to learn the newest techniques, procedures and products to be used in providing better dental care for dentists and of course their patients worldwide. As administrator of Dentaltown, this forum helps dentists from all over the world share philosophies of quality and dedication to the art of excellent dentistry.

In addition, Dr. Goldstein is now teaching other dentists about the Cerec computerized system for making crowns at the prestigious Scottsdale Center for Dentistry.

Dr. Goldstein resides in Bethlehem with his wife, Debbie, a professor of Dental Hygiene at Northampton Community College, and his son, Mark. The family enjoys bike riding, camping, and hiking. They take great pleasure in spending quality time with their two Labrador retrievers, "Desi" and "Luke", who are included in most of the family outings.

The Pennsylvania Dentistry Staff Team

Anyone can claim to be friendly, but not everyone can pull it off. That is because "people people"
cannot be trained, they have to be naturals. That is what you will find at our Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania Dental office. Sure, we have excellent credentials, function smoothly as a team, and share a great work ethic, but what we hope you will notice first, is the way that we put  you first. We consider your care from your viewpoint, taking all the time needed to sincerely get to know you, explain your dental health status, and keep you comfortable during your treatments. We look forward to welcoming you into our practice!

Kelley Stokes, Clinical Assistant

One of our PA Dental AssistantsGraduating from Freedom High School in 1982, Kelley went on to specialize in catering services. After working several years in the food industry, Kelley decided to pursue a career in the dental field. Being a real people person, this was a very good career choice for her and a lucky one for our office.

Kelley graduated from the Lehigh Valley Dental Assisting School in 1997. She has been with our office since 2001. Whenever you hear laughter that is where you will find Kelley. She makes everyone feel at ease and comfortable at the dental office. She has the special “knack” of making you feel as if you have been friends with her for you entire life.

Originally from Bethlehem, Kelley and her family now live in Coplay. Kelley, Jeff and their three children live very busy lives, usually all in different directions. The family enjoys playing with their lab-collie mix, “Macy Maria” the baby of the family.

Phyllis Davidson, Office Receptionist

Retiring from a rewarding twenty year career in the garment industry, Phyllis is a long way from truly retiring. Since 1989, Phyllis has been our part-time receptionist, and full-time office mother. Over the last decade she has filled in for five maternity-leaves, eight Christmas plays, five kindergarten graduations, a few Spring Concerts, and a couple high school graduations. Phyllis has what is commonly called “a memory like an elephant”. There is no doubt that she could name each and every patient and something special about each one in our practice. This gives you an idea of what our “office mom” does for us.

Phyllis and her husband Stuart live in Palmer Township and have been married since 1958. They have three grown children and seven grandchildren with whom they enjoy spending their time. When she is not helping us at the office, Phyllis and Stuart love to travel and sightsee throughout the United States.

Helene Pheiffer, Dental Hygienist

She settled into the position nicely and gained valuable knowledge in insurance processing, scheduling, and overall office management. After four years, Helene has returned to her first calling, dental hygiene. She enjoys the patient interaction, educating patients, and helping to make their dental visit a relaxed and pleasant experience.

Helene and her husband Bill have been married since 1986. They are very busy, proud parents of four beautiful children. Helene spends a lot of time zipping around to soccer, softball and baseball fields watching her children’s games. She has also now become active in helping coach some of her children’s basketball and softball teams.

Jane Delvecchio , Dental Hygienist

Excel Dental CareJane graduated from Northampton Community College as a dental hygienist in 1988. She has been a member of our team since 2002. Everyone should experience a pleasant dental hygiene visit. With Jane's calm, soothing personality, all patient anxiety will be alleviated. Patients can enjoy a stress free hygiene visit with Jane's warm gentle nature. Our office is very lucky to have Jane as part of our team.

Tammy Harding, Dental Hygienist

Tammy was a Certified Dental Assistant for five years before deciding to go back to school for dental hygiene. She graduated from Northampton Community College in 1984 as a dental hygienist.

Tammy’s continuing education and years of clinical experience have given her an excellent foundation to provide personalized, gentle, patient care. Her warm-hearted nature and pleasant attitude make her patients look forward to their next dental visit!

Living in the area most of her life, Tammy is familiar with many local events. It is not uncommon for her to give her time to local charities, and community events. Many of our local schools and other organizations benefit from the “dental field trips” that she is able to coordinate for these young people.

Tammy and her husband Terry reside in Bethlehem Township with their two beautiful daughters. Let’s not forget her extended family of Max and Phoebe, the clever cats, and Bella and Bear the precious puppies.

BillyJean Andrews – Dental Assistant

BillyJean has a quiet, reserved personality, with a wonderful ability to listen. Patients know that she truly cares about what they say.
With a vast knowledge of computer technology she is a strong asset to our office.  Our office is very excited to have BillyJean as the youngest member of our dental family.

Heather Cleaver – Dental Assistant

Heather graduated from Emmaus High School in 2002. She is a graduate of the Lehigh Valley School of Dental Assisting.

Heather and her four year old daughter live in Bethlehem. They enjoy going for walks, playing board games and having “family cooking night” every Friday.

After high school Heather was a preschool teacher and enjoys spending time with children.
Heather was an active dancer and actress for many years before deciding on pursuing a career in the dental field.

With Heather’s outgoing personality patients will always feel comfortable and at ease. In addition, she too has a great understanding of computers and takes pride in helping patients with her knowledge. We feel very fortunate to have Heather in our office to help both patients and staff on a daily basis.
